Currently, we are working in cities, towns, and rural villages in three states of India. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Across these states, we have already helped more than 900 underprivileged, and street children to attend school. In addition to education, we are working with health, skill training, and women empowerment, projects and events.
India has more than 40 million children living rough on the streets of its towns and cities. Fifty percent of children between 6 and 14 have no access to primary education.
Some of these children are designated to stay home to take care of their siblings while their parents are working. Daily, we can find street children begging, and searching for food. And, some children are just left to play in the streets unsupervised. Additionally, children living on the streets are often employed as child labor because they are cheap and will work long hours without complaining. Children have no idea about their rights, and rarely have any strong support system to stand up for them.
We want to change these statistics, and we will with your donation, one child at a time.
